2027 POLITICAL BOMBSHELL! Atiku Vows To Bypass Governors And Send Funds Directly To Local Governments!.

Published

on

African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar has pledged to disburse funds directly to local government councils if he wins the 2027 presidential election. In a Tuesday statement issued through his campaign spokesperson, Kenneth Okonkwo, Atiku emphasized that this commitment mirrors the July 2024 Supreme Court ruling mandating direct payments to local authorities.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Elaborating on the legal foundation of the commitment, the statement recalled that the apex court ruled in July 2024 that funds belonging to the local government tier must be disbursed directly to them. Atiku asserted that a nation must be governed by the rule of law rather than political convenience, vowing that his administration would faithfully uphold judicial decisions and foster a genuine federal structure where every tier of governance exercises its constitutional autonomy.

The former Vice President concurrently criticized the incumbent administration under President Bola Tinubu for failing to enforce the court order, alleging that the judgment has been sidelined to appease ruling party governors and secure political leverage for the 2027 polls. According to the campaign, the current federal leadership has neglected to implement the ruling to accommodate All Progressives Congress (APC) governors who historically controlled these financial allocations, supposedly as an enticement to leverage local government resources for vote mobilization.

Contrasting this approach, Atiku promised that his administration would fully respect judicial rulings, safeguard grassroots autonomy, and guarantee that public resources directly reach the citizens they are intended to serve. He maintained that this fiscal independence would drive local development, alleviate poverty at the grassroots level, and substantially empower local administrations to tackle crime and terrorism within their communities.
