President Tinubu’s directive, issued on Wednesday, instructed the opening of Nigeria’s land and air borders with the Republic of Niger and the lifting of other sanctions against the country with immediate effect.

In compliance with this directive, Nandap directed all Comptrollers stationed at States and Border Commands along the Nigeria-Niger Republic border to promptly lift all restrictions on human movement. The Immigration Service assures that it will continue to facilitate safe and orderly border crossings while maintaining the integrity and security of Nigeria’s borders.

In a related development, the Federal Government has announced plans to allocate N178.9 billion towards implementing the eight priority areas of President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda. The Minister of Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs, Zaphaniah Jisalo, outlined key priority areas of the strategic plan, including food security, poverty alleviation, economic growth, access to capital, security, fairness, and anti-corruption measures.

Jisalo also emphasized the ministry’s commitment to strict monitoring of projects undertaken by Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs), as well as constituencies’ projects across the country, to ensure effective implementation of President Tinubu’s developmental policies and the National Development Plan (NDP) 2021-2025.
