As a prominent member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Ogunlewe emphasized that it is fruitless and unwarranted to hold Buhari accountable for the current socio-economic difficulties since he is no longer in office.
In an interview with TheCable on Thursday, Ogunlewe encouraged Tinubu and his team to concentrate on fulfilling their electoral pledges and devising solutions to address the nation’s challenges.
He remarked, “I firmly believe that criticizing the previous administration serves no purpose. It is imperative to focus on the tasks at hand and fulfill the commitments made during the election campaign.”
Ogunlewe highlighted Tinubu’s acknowledgment of assuming responsibility for both the achievements and shortcomings of the Buhari administration, emphasizing Tinubu’s readiness to address the nation’s issues. He stressed that dwelling on past events would not resolve current challenges.
Addressing Tinubu’s tenure, Ogunlewe commended the President’s performance in the nine months since taking office, urging Nigerians to exercise patience and allow him more time to stabilize the country.
He asserted, “Tinubu’s leadership has been commendable thus far. I urge Nigerians to remain patient and trust in his ability to lead. He requires time to foster unity and restore stability, after which we can progress forward.”
Ogunlewe expressed confidence in Tinubu’s leadership, affirming his belief that the President is steering the nation in the right direction.
