Do2tun: Doubt Surrounding Anthony Joshua’s Victory....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Renowned media personality Oladotun Ojuolape Kayode, known as Do2tun, has asserted that numerous Nigerians lacked faith in Nigerian-British boxer Anthony Joshua’s ability to defeat former Franco-Cameroonian UFC star Francis Ngannou in their recent boxing match…READ ALSO

Despite Joshua’s second-round knockout victory over the former UFC heavyweight champion in Saudi Arabia, Do2tun revealed that many Nigerians initially doubted Joshua’s chances of winning.

While Nigerians flooded social media platforms to celebrate Joshua’s triumph over Ngannou, with the Federal Government also extending congratulations to him, Do2tun maintained that Joshua did not enjoy widespread support from Nigerians at the outset.

He expressed on his X platform, “Let’s be honest, many Nigerians doubted Anthony’s victory in this fight. I was one of the believers. I told my friends, ‘Boxing requires technique, and just because Francis knocked out Fury, who I still believe hasn’t faced a strong contender, doesn’t guarantee he’ll beat Anthony.’ We must improve our support.”

Sharing a snapshot of his tweet on Instagram, Do2tun suggested that Anthony Joshua was justified in not mentioning Nigeria in his victory speech, where he acknowledged Britain, Cameroon, and Saudi Arabia.

The OAP remarked, “Success garners numerous admirers, while failure stands alone. That’s life, but I’d confidently choose the former. Let’s remain in one lane. He [Anthony Joshua] didn’t acknowledge us, but have we truly earned it?

“Many even wagered against him… oh, Nigeria for display.”

Speaking during a television interview on Sunday, Oshiomhole addressed broader political engagement strategies aimed at strengthening ties between the Federal Government and the South-East. He noted that while Uzodimma holds a prominent position as secretary within the ruling party’s campaign structure, that role does not translate to an exclusive mandate for explaining government policies and milestones to the Igbo community.

Instead, Oshiomhole emphasized that all political leaders and governors representing the South-East share an equal duty to communicate effectively with their constituents and build strong bridges with the center.

“Please note, the fact that Hope Uzodimma is the secretary doesn’t mean he will be the one marketing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to the Igbo nation. I believe that every other governor in the South-East also has a role to play,” Oshiomhole stated.

Imumolen announced the decision on Thursday during the APC mega rally in Osun State, just days before the August 15, 2026 poll.

Speaking at the rally, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, who represented President Bola Tinubu, said information available to him indicated that the Accord faction had “thrown in the towel” and decided to support Oyebamiji.

During his address, Imumolen removed the yellow cap associated with Accord in the state and replaced it with an APC-branded cap in a symbolic show of support for the ruling party’s candidate.

A video from the rally showed the discarded yellow cap being thrown into the air by an unidentified person.
