Things Fall Apart : Anselm Ojezua Joins The Fray Drags Ighodalo, PDP To Court Over Gubernatorial Primaries As Shaibu Faces Impeachment....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
In a political context, when “things fall apart,” it signifies a breakdown or crisis within a political party. This breakdown can manifest in various ways, such as internal conflicts, leadership disputes, electoral challenges, or a loss of public support. The phrase underscores the vulnerability of a political organization, emphasizing the importance of unity, strategic planning, and effective leadership to maintain stability and navigate challenges successfully…READ FULL ARTICLE.
The notion here is that when a political party lacks cohesive and robust internal structures, it becomes susceptible to internal conflicts, external opposition, or a reduction in its political influence. This predicament characterizes the current state of the PDP, highlighted by Anslem Ojezua’s recent move to seek a court injunction on Friday at the Federal High Court, Abuja. His aim is to prevent the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the PDP National Secretariat from acknowledging Dr. Asue Ighodalo as the official candidate of the party.
Indeed, the saying that wonders never cease holds true. Quite a twist of events! Who could have foreseen that Anslem Ojezua, the former APC state chairman who defected with Godwin Obaseki to the PDP before the 2020 Governorship election, would now be challenging both the PDP and the declared winner, Asue Ighodalo, in court? This move indirectly confronts Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki as well.READ FULL ARTICLE.
It unfolded that both Anslem and Philip aspired to the governorship, causing a rift with Governor Godwin Obaseki. Now, it appears that both Anslem and Shaibu are gearing up for a direct confrontation with Obaseki. While Anslem has taken the party to court to prevent INEC from recognizing Asue as the party’s candidate, Philip Shaibu, on the other hand, has proclaimed himself as the victor of the gubernatorial primaries, resulting in two contenders emerging within the PDP.
Philip Shaibu is now testing Obaseki’s patience, someone renowned for his ruthless approach in personal conflicts. Shaibu is on the verge of facing impeachment, a likely outcome given Obaseki’s track record in similar situations. Obaseki, characterized by his no-nonsense attitude, can metaphorically crush a tiny ant with a sledgehammer and incinerate it with a double-barreled gun. The Governor harbors no mercy in battles, evident in his relentless pursuit of victory. It’s not surprising that, with just around nine months or even less before his departure, Obaseki seems determined to dismantle Philip Shaibu’s political career.
Things don scatter well-well, and e be like say the center no fit hold again. As for Ojezua mata, we dey wait to see the kind punishment Obaseki go give am. But, you sabi that proverb wey talk say “Person wey dey ground, no dey fear fall.” Same way, pikin wey wan chop party rice, suppose ready to dance for the party.

2027 Power Struggle: Nwebonyi Rubbishes Rumors Of Single-Term Zoning For Ebonyi North.
Senator Onyekachi Nwebonyi, the Deputy Chief Whip of the Senate, has rejected assertions that he is breaching a zoning agreement that would supposedly limit Ebonyi North senators to one term. Speaking to the press in Abakaliki on Sunday, the Senator pointed to the precedent set by former Governor Sam Egwu, who successfully served two terms in the Senate, to argue that the alleged one-term policy lacks binding authority. Highlighting his own constituency initiatives and record, Nwebonyi stated he faces no serious competition for his seat and emphasized that public service should be defined by sacrifice rather than personal gain.
Additionally, the Senator expressed strong support for the APC’s prospects in Ebonyi State and lauded President Bola Tinubu for prioritizing infrastructure development in the South-East. He further praised Governor Francis Nwifuru as a unifying leader, dismissing rumors of friction within the Izzi clan and calling on stakeholders to prioritize the state’s collective development over divisive politics.

The festivities, which began after 2 p.m. at the Emirates Stadium, wound through Highbury, Canonbury, and Upper Street before concluding back at the stadium. This parade honored a league victory confirmed on May 19, ending a 22-year championship drought. During the event, fans were seen climbing trees and rooftops to see Mikel Arteta’s squad as the players showcased the Premier League trophy. The procession included four buses, one of which carried the Arsenal Women’s team, winners of the inaugural Women’s Champions Cup this past February.
This celebration followed a heartbreaking 1-1 draw against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League final in Budapest on Saturday, where Arsenal ultimately fell in a penalty shootout after misses by Eberechi Eze and Gabriel Magalhaes. Despite the European defeat, the Premier League title held immense significance for the team, coming after three consecutive seasons as runners-up. Reflecting on the massive turnout, journalist Matt Graveling described the celebration as the largest sporting event he had witnessed in his 15-year career.
