Reports emerged of about 200 women being kidnapped by Boko Haram terrorists in the Gamboru-Ngala and Dikwa local government areas of Borno State. These women, who were Internally Displaced Persons, were reportedly taken while foraging for firewood in the bush.
Shortly after, suspected bandits raided the Kuriga area of the Chikun Local Government Area in Kaduna State, abducting over 280 pupils and teachers from Government Secondary School and LEA primary school. The assailants shot at their victims before seizing them.
The continuous incidents of kidnapping and violence against innocent citizens have sparked widespread concern across the country.
In response to these distressing events, Oluremi Tinubu, wife of President Bola Tinubu, expressed her outrage, asserting that those responsible for such heinous acts, when apprehended, should face conviction and the ultimate penalty – death.
