Okai called on Governor Usman Ododo and his administration to transparently address the allegation and take immediate steps to rectify the situation. The reported authorization by Ododo to deduct 20 per cent of the salaries, leaving the staff with only 80 per cent of their rightful earnings, has triggered widespread outrage and condemnation across the state.

In his statement, Okai emphasized the need for accountability and integrity in governance, stressing that the people of Kogi State deserve better. He urged citizens to demand transparency from the government and refuse to tolerate any form of corruption.

  • Major General Rabe Abubakar (retd.) and his wife, Amina Abdullahi, were taken by the attackers to an undisclosed location before security forces could arrive.

  • The couple had been traveling from Abuja to Katsina to observe the Eid al-Kabir celebration when their vehicle was intercepted.
