Tension Mounts As Ikpeazu And Otti Governments Clash Over Alleged $5m Investment In Geometric Power Project....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

A heated dispute has erupted between supporters of former Governor Okezie Ikpeazu and the current Governor, Alex Otti, over the purported $5 million investment made by the Abia State government in the Geometric Power project……CONTINUE READING

The controversy stemmed from the recent commissioning of the Geometric Power facility in Osisioma by President Bola Tinubu, which sparked a flurry of verbal exchanges between loyalists of the two administrations.

Supporters of Okezie Ikpeazu, including John Okiyi Kalu, Onyebuchi Ememanka, Enyinnaya Appolos, Chinonye Mba, and Don Ubani, claim that the Ikpeazu administration secured a 5% stake in Geometrics with a $5 million investment, of which $3.6 million has allegedly been paid.

They criticized the Otti administration and Geometric’s Chairman, Professor Barth Nnaji, for not acknowledging Ikpeazu’s role in the power project during his tenure.

On the other hand, media aides to Governor Alex Otti, including Ferdinand Ekeoma and Dodoh Okafor, denied the reported investment, stating that no documentation regarding such investment was handed over to the current administration.

Ferdinand Ekeoma accused the former governor of orchestrating attacks against the Otti administration and dismissed the allegations as “primitive propaganda.”

Governor Otti, in response, acknowledged Ikpeazu’s involvement in Geometric but stated that there was no evidence of the alleged investment. He directed his Commissioner for Finance and the Accountant General to investigate the matter further.

While Governor Otti admitted that Ikpeazu participated in loan agreements with Geometric, he clarified that there was no documentation to support the claimed equity investment.

The dispute underscores growing tensions between political factions in Abia State and raises questions about the transparency of government investments in critical infrastructure projects.

The match began with an immediate impact from Arsenal, as Kai Havertz capitalized on a pass from Leandro Trossard to put the London club ahead within the first six minutes. Arsenal maintained their lead for much of the first half, successfully frustrating the French champions.

The momentum shifted in the 63rd minute when a VAR review resulted in a penalty for PSG. Ousmane Dembélé stepped up to the spot and converted two minutes later, bringing the score level at 1-1. Despite intense efforts from both sides during the remainder of regulation and throughout extra time, neither team could find a winning goal.

The title was ultimately decided by penalties. In the shootout, PSG held their nerve, with Lucas Beraldo converting their final spot-kick. With Arsenal needing to score to force sudden death, defender Gabriel Magalhães sent his effort over the bar, sealing a 4-3 victory for the French side.

This triumph marks a historic achievement for PSG, who become the first French club to win the UEFA Champions League title in two consecutive seasons, having defeated Inter Milan 5-0 in the 2025 final.
