According to sources close to the family, Mr Ibu had been on life support following a recent surgery to address his ailment. Despite efforts to stabilize his condition, his blood pressure remained dangerously high, surpassing 200, until his untimely demise this evening.
Mr Ibu had been grappling with recurring blood clot issues in his leg, along with other health complications, for an extended period. In a bid to seek treatment, he publicly appealed for financial assistance in October 2023. Despite plans for medical intervention abroad, his doctors deemed him unfit to travel, leading to the cancellation of the arrangement.
Tragically, in November 2023, Mr Ibu underwent the amputation of his leg as part of his treatment regimen.
Survived by his wife and children, the 62-year-old actor leaves behind a legacy marked by his exceptional talent for comedic roles in the film industry. His unforgettable performances endeared him to audiences far and wide, earning him a special place in the hearts of many.
