In an interview with reporters, the spokesman for Defence Media Operations, Maj.-Gen. Edward Buba, emphasized that any action taken by Igboho without the involvement of security agencies would be deemed unconstitutional.

Buba affirmed the military’s readiness to collaborate with Igboho to combat the menace of killer herdsmen and bandits threatening farmers and commuters in the South West. He commended Igboho’s courage and assured him of the military’s willingness to cooperate if his intentions aim to enhance national security.

While acknowledging Igboho’s statements, Buba stressed the importance of respecting the constitution and the role of the armed forces in maintaining law and order.

He stated, “If what he said is to make the situation better, he is welcomed, but if what he is saying is that we should disregard the armed forces of Nigeria, definitely, he is out of line because that is against Nigeria’s constitution.”
