American actor Buddy Duress, known for his roles in films like Good Time and Heaven Knows What, has tragically passed away at the age of 38….READ ALSO

 

Duress, who starred alongside Robert Pattinson in the acclaimed film Good Time, succumbed to a ‘cardiac arrest from a drug cocktail’ in November 2023, according to his brother, Christopher Stathis, as reported by People.

His acting career began with a notable role in the 2014 film Heaven Knows What, directed by Josh and Benny Safdie, shortly after his release from Rikers Island following a drug-related conviction.

Throughout his life, Duress faced recurring legal issues, including multiple stints in jail for charges such as identity theft, grand larceny, and heroin possession. Despite his tumultuous personal struggles, he leaves behind his mother Jo-Anne and younger brother Christopher.

Born Michael C. Stathis in Queens, New York, in May 1985, Duress attended Robert Louis Stevenson High School in Manhattan. Following his breakthrough in Heaven Knows What, he reunited with the Safdie brothers in the 2017 film Good Time, where he portrayed a drug dealer alongside Pattinson’s character.
