The Broward County jail, where Kodak Black had been confined, witnessed his release following the decision of Florida Judge Jose Martinez to dismiss the drug possession charge against him. This news came as a beacon of hope for the rapper, who had been eagerly awaiting the birth of his son, due later that week.

Kodak Black, whose legal name is Bill Kapri, had been embroiled in legal turmoil since his arrest on December 7, when Florida police found him asleep at the wheel of his black Bentley in Fort Lauderdale. Initially accused of cocaine possession, subsequent lab tests revealed that the substance was oxycodone, for which Kodak Black had a valid prescription dating back to July 2022.

While the drug possession charge was dismissed on February 9 after proof of his prescription was submitted, Kodak Black remained in custody due to the revocation of his bond in a separate 2022 Florida case involving allegations of oxycodone trafficking.

However, a glimmer of hope emerged when U.S. District Court Judge Jose E. Martinez ruled that Kodak Black had violated the terms of his supervised release but opted for a lenient sentence of “time served with no supervised release to follow.”

Speaking after the hearing, Kodak Black’s lawyer, Bradford Cohen, expressed relief at the outcome, highlighting the judge’s acknowledgment of Kodak Black’s contributions to the community while emphasizing the need for him to seek help when needed.

Despite this victory, Kodak Black still faces prosecution in the 2022 trafficking case in Broward County and a remaining tampering charge related to the December arrest. However, with the dismissal of the drug possession charge and his release from jail, Kodak Black can now focus on addressing these remaining legal challenges while cherishing his newfound freedom.

Ahmad made the assertion in a post on his X handle, maintaining that Kwankwaso’s decision to accept the position of running mate should be seen as an act of political modesty rather than an indication that he is less qualified than Obi.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

According to the former presidential aide, the relationship between the two politicians should be viewed as one of equals rather than that of a superior and a subordinate.

“To be entirely candid, the political dynamic between Rabiu Kwankwaso and Peter Obi ought to be characterised as one of collegiality between peers, rather than a hierarchy of principal and subordinate,” he wrote.

He added, “The choice to assume a deputy role beneath Obi ought to be interpreted as a testament to political modesty.”

Making a case for Kwankwaso’s political experience, Ahmad recalled that the former Kano State governor served as Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives before Obi became a prominent figure in national politics.

He also noted that Kwankwaso governed Kano State, which he described as Nigeria’s most populous and politically influential state, for two terms and served as a federal minister.

“If we are assessing political experience, Sen. Kwankwaso probably has a longer and more impressive political background than Peter Obi,” Ahmad stated.

In contrast, the former presidential aide argued that Obi’s major public office experience was limited to his tenure as governor of Anambra State.

“Unlike other candidates, Peter Obi was just a former governor of Anambra State,” he wrote.
