During the 1st session of the 2024 Mandatory Continuing Professional Development (MCPD) program held in Lokoja, Kogi State, ANAN emphasized the importance of embracing technology to stay abreast of contemporary accounting practices.
Dr. James Ekerare Neminebor, the President and Chairman of Council of ANAN, underscored the pivotal role of technology in revolutionizing accounting processes. Addressing professionals at the event, he highlighted the theme, “Technology Innovation in Accounting and Internal Control,” emphasizing the need for experts to adapt to evolving technological landscapes.
Dr. Neminebor stressed that leveraging emerging technologies would not only enhance the value of accounting professionals but also elevate the standard of the profession as a whole. He emphasized the critical role of technology in streamlining business strategies and bolstering risk and control functions within organizations.
Furthermore, Dr. Neminebor shed light on specific technological innovations such as Robotic Process Automation (RPA) and Artificial Intelligence (AI), which have the potential to revolutionize traditional accounting practices. He emphasized the importance of these innovations in improving reliability, accuracy, and consistency in accounting processes.
Additionally, Dr. Neminebor highlighted the implications of technological advancements on data security and ethical considerations, emphasizing the need for robust internal controls to mitigate potential risks.
ANAN’s advocacy for technological advancements in accounting reflects a broader commitment to fostering innovation and excellence within the profession. As accounting practices continue to evolve in the digital age, embracing technology becomes increasingly imperative for professionals to maintain relevance and effectiveness in their roles.

The request, communicated in a letter from the President and disclosed by his spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga, on Friday, aligns with Section 218(2) of the 1999 Constitution (as amended) and Section 18(1) of the Armed Forces Act.
Oluyede was appointed Acting Chief of Army Staff on October 30, following the health challenges of the late Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja, who passed away on November 5.
Expressing confidence in Oluyede’s capabilities, Tinubu stated:
“President Tinubu is confident about the leadership qualities, professional integrity, and experience of Lt. General Oluyede to lead and inspire the army to ensure national security and stability.”
Before his appointment, Oluyede, a member of the 39th Regular Course, served as the 56th Commander of the elite Infantry Corps of the Nigerian Army in Jaji, Kaduna.
Commissioned as a second lieutenant in 1992 (effective from 1987), Oluyede became a Major-General in September 2020 and has held several command positions throughout his career.

Phyna shared her emotional thoughts, writing, “I am officially dropping my family surname, Otabor. It’s clear I have no family, and no one knows how I even came into this world. I’m still trying to figure that out.”
She went on to explain how challenging her journey has been, revealing the emotional strain caused by being neglected by relatives as she grew up. “It’s been tough lately. I can’t even put into words what I’m feeling right now. I was tossed around by relatives when I was younger, but I didn’t realize it then,” she shared.
This revelation follows a public dispute earlier this year when Phyna’s father, Mr. Otabor, criticized her for not offering financial support to him and his family since her rise to fame.
