In a small village tucked away in the rural heartland of Nigeria, there lived a young girl named Amina. Amina had big dreams of becoming a doctor one day, to help her community overcome the challenges of poverty and inadequate healthcare…….CONTINUE READING

Despite the odds stacked against her, Amina worked tirelessly, studying late into the night by the dim glow of a kerosene lamp, determined to make her dreams a reality. Her parents, though poor, supported her aspirations, sacrificing what little they had to ensure she could attend school.

But tragedy struck when Amina’s father fell ill with a mysterious illness that drained their meager savings and left the family struggling to make ends meet. With no access to proper medical care, Amina’s father passed away, leaving behind a grieving widow and children burdened with despair.

Devastated by the loss of her father and overwhelmed by the responsibility of caring for her family, Amina’s dreams of becoming a doctor began to fade. Forced to drop out of school to help support her family, she took on odd jobs to make ends meet, her aspirations slowly slipping away like grains of sand through her fingers.

Years passed, and Amina watched helplessly as her siblings followed in her footsteps, their own dreams crushed by the harsh realities of life in rural Nigeria. The village clinic, once a beacon of hope, lay abandoned and neglected, its shelves bare and its doors closed to those in need.

As Amina looked out over the dusty streets of her village, she couldn’t help but wonder what might have been if only she had been given the chance to pursue her dreams. But in a country where poverty and inequality reign supreme, the aspirations of girls like Amina are often forgotten, lost in the struggle for survival.

And so, with a heavy heart and tears in her eyes, Amina resigned herself to a life of hardship and sacrifice, her dreams of becoming a doctor nothing more than a distant memory in a land where hope is a luxury reserved for the privileged few.

Ambassadorial Nomination Under Fire: Frank Tie Tie Exposes ‘Mistake’ Regarding Ex-FUOYE VC Fasina!.

Human rights lawyer Frank Tietie has criticized the nomination and subsequent confirmation of Professor Abayomi Fasina, the former Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University, Oye-Ekiti, as a non-career ambassador designate.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

  • Prior to his confirmation, a coalition of civil society organizations protested at the National Assembly on July 7, 2026, opposing Fasina’s nomination due to pending court cases involving allegations of sexual harassment, human rights violations, and victimization.

  • Despite these protests, the Nigerian Senate officially confirmed Fasina’s appointment as a non-career ambassador on Thursday.

Frank Tietie’s Position

  • During an interview on ARISE Television, Tietie argued that nominating an individual with such “baggage” was a mistake, emphasizing that ambassadors represent Nigeria in the same capacity as the President.

  • Tietie stated that the government should have sent the “right signals” by avoiding such controversial appointments, especially given the current state of governance.

  • He argued that even in the absence of a final court judgment, the allegations themselves have “tainted” Fasina’s reputation, and the Senate should have delayed the confirmation until the legal matters were resolved.

  • Tietie also suggested that the National Assembly’s decision overlooks significant social changes regarding how such allegations are now viewed by society.
