Despite the allure of a potential move to Europe, Nwabali remains composed and cautious about his next career move. In an exclusive interview with Arise News, the 27-year-old shot-stopper expressed his gratitude for the interest shown by bigger clubs but emphasized his preference for patience and comfort over haste.

Acknowledging the messages urging him to join a more prominent club or make the leap to European football, Nwabali emphasized his comfort even in smaller environments. He reiterated his inclination to avoid rushing into decisions, indicating a thoughtful and measured approach to his career progression.

While Nwabali’s outstanding performances have undoubtedly put him on the radar of European clubs, he remains focused on his current duties with Chippa United in the South African Premier Soccer League (PSL). Alexander Zverev Declares He Could Be World’s Best After US Open Triumph

Published

on

German tennis star Alexander Zverev has asserted that he could be considered the best player in the world following his victory at the 2026 US Open. At Arthur Ashe Stadium on Sunday, the 29-year-old defeated American Ben Shelton 6-3, 7-6 (7-2), 5-7, 6-2 to claim his second Grand Slam title of the season, building on his French Open triumph in June and concluding the major tournament stretch with an impressive 25-2 record.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Reflecting on his standing, Zverev noted that while his current form puts him at the top, rivals Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz may still hold the edge when they are fully fit and active. He candidly acknowledged that when Sinner and Alcaraz were healthy months prior, he frequently lost to Sinner, maintaining that a fully fit Sinner remains ahead of him.

Zverev attributed his championship win to a significant boost in mental fortitude, overcoming the ghosts of his heartbreaking 2020 US Open final defeat where he squandered a two-set lead against Dominic Thiem. Playing before a roaring crowd of 24,000, his focus was so absolute that he momentarily lost track of the score and didn’t immediately realize he had served out the match.

Reflecting on his journey and the six-year gap between his Flushing Meadows heartbreak and ultimate glory, Zverev emphasized that 2026 is the culmination of years of relentless effort, bringing him two Grand Slam titles in the span of three months. He also shared a deeply personal tribute, celebrating his father and coach, Alexander senior, for watching from the sidelines, and praising his mother for defying medical limitations following his childhood type 1 diabetes diagnosis to ensure he could achieve his dreams.

Pro Ref has acknowledged an “error of judgement” regarding the decisive 60th-minute goal scored by Erling Haaland, which secured a 1-0 victory for Manchester City against Manchester United at Old Trafford. Despite playing with 10 men for over an hour following Phil Foden’s red card for kicking out at Bruno Fernandes, City claimed the derby win. Although Haaland was initially flagged offside, VAR overturned the call after concluding that Manchester United defender Patrick Dorgu played him onside.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

However, Pro Ref noted that City midfielder Enzo Fernandez was in an offside position and obscured the play as the ball traveled toward Haaland, meaning the VAR should have advised referee Michael Oliver to conduct an on-field review. The officiating body confirmed that it has contacted Manchester United to recognize the error and will conduct a full review of the incident.

The match was further marred by controversy over Foden’s dismissal. While Manchester City manager Enzo Maresca conceded that Foden rightly received a straight red card for his reaction, he argued that Bruno Fernandes should have also been sent off for his role in the altercation.
