Asake’s ascent to the top of the streaming charts follows his breakout hit single ‘Omo Ope,’ which catapulted him to widespread commercial success in 2022. Since then, his popularity has only continued to soar, culminating in this remarkable achievement.
According to the data provided by TurnTable Charts, Asake amassed a staggering 654 million streams across various platforms including Boomplay, Spotify, YouTube, and Apple Music throughout the course of 2023.
Securing the second position on the list is Seyi Vibez, who garnered an impressive 533 million streams following the release of two albums and two EPs during the year. Davido follows closely behind in third place with 328 million streams attributed to his fourth album, ‘Timeless.’
Omah Lay occupies the fourth position with 301 million streams, while Burna Boy rounds off the top five with 282 million streams, boosted by the release of his seventh album, ‘I Told Them.’
Asake’s remarkable feat underscores not only his talent as an artist but also his ability to resonate with audiences across the country, cementing his status as one of Nigeria’s most influential and sought-after musicians.
