In the interview, Onyia delved into the innovative solutions his platform has been spearheading in Nigerian schools, detailing Educare’s evolution, reach, and strategic decisions aimed at maintaining its mission-driven approach. The Educare CEO also shed light on how the platform is tackling the complex challenges faced by educational institutions in managing their day-to-day operations.

How did your journey from an agricultural engineering graduate to the educational sector come about, and what inspired the creation of Educare?

My passion has always been software development, with a keen interest in leveraging technology to transform various industries. Education particularly intrigued me, prompting our investment focus in this sector.

What notable challenges have Educare addressed within the Nigerian education system, and which ones do you value the most?

Our journey began in 2015 when Lekki British School approached us to develop software for comprehensive school management—an endeavor no other company could fulfill. This experience laid the foundation for Educare’s expansion, offering reliable software solutions and unparalleled support to schools nationwide.

Many startups emphasize capital and navigational hurdles. What’s your unique story?

My approach centers on problem-solving rather than capital accumulation. We’ve never sought external funding and have reinvested profits to fuel our growth. Purpose-driven goals, not impressing investors, have been our guiding principle.

What lies at the heart of your vision for Educare’s future?

Our focus is on revolutionizing learning and assessment methodologies, particularly in standardized exams like JAMB and WAEC. We aim to shift the assessment focus from teachers to students and encourage states to evaluate schools. Additionally, our Educare Business Tool is enhancing administrative functions in schools, setting new standards in HR and finance systems.

How are you leveraging media partnerships to amplify Educare’s impact in Nigeria’s education sector?

While we’ve prioritized product development, media engagement is now a key focus. We aim to showcase our eight-year journey and raise awareness about our contributions to education. Despite minimal advertising, Educare has garnered significant popularity. Hence, it’s imperative to leverage media platforms to elevate our brand and reach wider audiences.

In a post shared on her verified X handle on Thursday night, the Edo-born reality star revealed she has been facing difficult times and expressed her frustrations with her family’s lack of support throughout her life.

Phyna shared her emotional thoughts, writing, “I am officially dropping my family surname, Otabor. It’s clear I have no family, and no one knows how I even came into this world. I’m still trying to figure that out.”

She went on to explain how challenging her journey has been, revealing the emotional strain caused by being neglected by relatives as she grew up. “It’s been tough lately. I can’t even put into words what I’m feeling right now. I was tossed around by relatives when I was younger, but I didn’t realize it then,” she shared.

This revelation follows a public dispute earlier this year when Phyna’s father, Mr. Otabor, criticized her for not offering financial support to him and his family since her rise to fame.
