President Tinubu announced the reward during a reception held at the Council Chamber, Presidential Villa, Abuja, where he hosted the players and officials of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF). The Minister of Sports Development, Senator John Owan Enoh, led the delegation.
In recognition of their hard work and dedication, President Tinubu conferred upon the team a national award (Member of the Order of the Niger, MON), along with flats in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and pieces of land.
The Super Eagles, along with their officials, attended the event, adorned in their green attire. The occasion also marked the presence of Alex Iwobi, who had previously faced cyber attacks following Nigeria’s loss to Cote d’Ivoire in the AFCON final.
In a statement released by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, President Tinubu commended the team, the coach, the crew, and the entire management for their remarkable performance throughout the tournament. He acknowledged their perseverance in overcoming obstacles and consistently improving their game, leading them to the finals.
President Tinubu urged Nigerians to remain optimistic, highlighting the victory the team achieved in capturing the hearts of Africa and the world through their resilience and determination on the field.
He expressed solidarity with the Nigerian youth, encouraging them to continue pursuing their dreams, assuring them of his administration’s commitment to supporting and fulfilling their aspirations.

As a nation, we are bound together by the green-white-green banner of resilience, joy, hope, duty, and unwavering love.
