In a compelling communique signed by the Chairperson of the Forum, Amb. Olufolake Abdulrasaq, wife of the Kwara governor, the governor’s wives underscored the urgent need to revitalize State Drug Control Committees (SDCC) and ramp up rehabilitation programs aimed at holistic recovery.
Their strategic resolutions included fostering good parenting practices, supporting the NDLEA Drug Integrity Testing Policy for early intervention, and championing the establishment of standard drug rehabilitation centers across the nation. Additionally, they vowed to spearhead initiatives to create skill acquisition centers and job opportunities for youth, aiming to mitigate the allure of drug use and trafficking.
Emphasizing the critical connection between drug abuse and rising criminal activities, the forum stressed the far-reaching social, economic, and security implications. They applauded the efforts of NDLEA under the leadership of retired Brig.- Gen.
