Commander General of the NHFSS, Dr. Wole Joshua Osatimehin, expressed delight at the integration, stating that it would enhance the NHFSS’s operations.
Furthermore, 200 cadets recently completed their training under the NHFSS, adding to its strength in combating security challenges across the nation.
Amb Nwachukwu Adah, the National Commander of the CJTF, highlighted the origins of the CJTF and the rationale behind the merger. He emphasized the need for formal incorporation and recognized the structured framework of the NHFSS.
With over 10,000 former CJTF members spread across the country, the absorption into the NHFSS marks the end of the CJTF’s independent existence. Adah urged CJTF personnel to transition smoothly by surrendering their identity cards for verification and absorption into the Hunters Service.
Assuring fairness and equity, Dr. Osatimehin emphasized the NHFSS’s commitment to a thorough verification process and comprehensive training for the former CJTF members. He underscored the importance of adherence to operational guidelines and laws in carrying out their duties.
Osatimehin commended the support of various security agencies and traditional rulers, acknowledging their role in advocating for the NHFSS Bill to be signed into law by President Bola Tinubu.
