Nigeria suffered a 2-1 loss to the hosts, Cote d’Ivoire, on Sunday.
Expressing his views via his X handle, Bovi pointed fingers at coach Peseiro’s strategies as the reason behind the defeat of the three-time African champions.
He criticized Peseiro’s emphasis on defense over attack, emphasizing his dissatisfaction even if Nigeria had emerged victorious.
Bovi expressed, “Blame the coach. We are a footballing nation of flair. Fluidity, through passes, dribbles, attack. Not all out defense. Even if we’d won, I would still be pissed. The style was evidently alien to the players.”
