“I regret to announce the passing of Ethel Ekpe, the talented actress who captivated audiences with her unforgettable portrayal of Segi in Ken Saro Wiwa’s classic sitcom ‘Basi and Company’ on Nigerian Television Authority (NTA),” Husseini wrote.
Ekpe, who later became a pastor, will be deeply missed, especially by Husseini’s family, who named their second daughter Ethel in her honor.
The late actress graced the screens in notable films such as Aguila Njamah’s “Heartbeat,” Tchidi Chikere’s “Speak the Word,” and Lancelot Oduwa Imasuen’s “Traumatised.”
In another development, Nollywood actress Blessing Obasi, who recently tied the knot with her younger colleague Stan Nze, has candidly shared her journey of marrying later in life.
Obasi revealed on her Instagram page that her decision to marry at an older age was not merely a choice but a voyage of self-discovery, resilience, and defiance against societal pressures.
