Speaking at a party rally in Abuja, Agbese attributed the election success to the leadership of George Akume, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF). He emphasized that the APC triumphed due to the efforts of genuine party members, distinguishing them from those who were initially invited for the sake of political patronage.
Agbese conveyed, “We received credible intelligence about high-tensioned forces within the party, which should have originally added efforts to support the labor of original APC men and women… but rather deployed resources to fight against the people and sabotage their genuine labor.” He acknowledged the timely guidance and effective leadership provided by Senator George Akume and the state chairman, Comrade Austin Agada, preventing an alternative narrative.
