Rampant Bandit Attacks In Katsina: Four Lives Lost, Including Security Personnel’s Family Members

On Saturday, five armed bandits targeted the residence of Isa Bawa Yantumaki, a KCWC member, in Unguwar Yayyara village, Danmusa LGA, at 2 am. The assailants mercilessly killed Yantumaki’s father, Malam Suleiman Mai Rake, and made off with two cows.
The preceding day, around 5 pm, another bandit group on motorcycles invaded Ungwar Damari village in Sabuwa Local Government Area. In this attack, Shehu Armaya’u, a KCWC member, lost his life, along with two other victims identified as Lawal and Mamuda. Armaya’u, who had secured a two-day off-duty, met his untimely demise while visiting his family.
These distressing incidents underscore the worsening banditry crisis in Katsina’s rural areas. Despite the efforts of the KCWC and other security agents, the frequency and intensity of attacks have surged since the beginning of the new year.
