The discovery unfolded at Afromedia, where a routine search by the police officers revealed cartons of Feed Fine Cyproheptadine Caplets 4g, all marked with an expiry date of 2016. According to the suspects’ confession, the expired drugs were en route to Alaba, where an individual would alter the expiry dates before further distribution in Port Harcourt.

Benjamin Hundeyin, the command’s Public Relations Officer, shared this information in a statement on his X handle. He reported, “The suspects, drug, and the vehicle are currently in custody. Efforts are on to arrest the owner of the drugs, the individual altering expiry dates, and other indicted persons.”

This incident echoes a similar event in August 2023 when the Kano State Police Command confiscated 820 cartons of suspected fake and expired drugs at Mallam Kato Market in the Fagge Local Government Area of the state.
