In a momentous collaboration, Safagha Renewable Energy Limited is set to welcome the Honorable Minister of the Niger Delta Development Ministry, Engr. Abubakar Momoh FNSE, at the commissioning of its groundbreaking solar hybrid mini grid project in Okpokunu, Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State on the 16th of February 2024.

The project, initiated by Safagha Renewable Energy Limited, aims to illuminate over 595 homes in Okpokunu, a community that has been grappling with the absence of electricity since the devastating floods of 2012. The commissioning event signifies a significant leap towards addressing the energy deficit in the region.

Mr. Godbless Safugha, CEO of Safagha Renewable Energy Limited, expressed gratitude for the minister’s unwavering support and highlighted the transformative impact the solar hybrid mini grid project has had on the community. In addition to the Okpokunu project, Safagha Renewable Energy Limited has ongoing initiatives in Bomadi Local Government Area, with two projects, and two more in Burutu Local Government Area, reflecting the company’s dedication to bringing sustainable electricity to various communities.

The solar hybrid mini grid project in Okpokunu is already in the test run phase ahead of the official commissioning, providing the community with not only electricity but also a sustainable and eco-friendly energy solution.
