The decision to seal the factory was made during an enforcement tour, with the Senior Special Assistant to the Ogun State Governor on Environment, Farouk Akintunde, emphasizing that the operations of the factory posed a threat to the lives of residents in the area. Akintunde urged businesses to prioritize the well-being of their host communities and abstain from practices that could jeopardize people’s health and impact local businesses. The Director of Special Duties and Climate Change in the Ministry of Environment, Tunji Egbemuyiwa, also encouraged residents to report any environmental infractions to prevent potential environmental disasters.
