Otti clarified that he resigned from his position at the bank eight months before assuming office as Governor, emphasizing that his current role is that of the Governor of Abia State.
During the official opening of two branches of Signature Bank in Umuahia and Aba, Otti shared his history with the bank, stating, “Until about 8 months ago, I served on the board of Signature Bank as a pioneer non-executive director and one of its founders until my present role.” He made it clear that his appearance at the event was in his capacity as the Governor of Abia State and a guest, not as a director or founder of Signature Bank.
Otti expressed optimism about the economic growth prospects in Abia State, citing the faith that members of the business community have begun to place in the state. He highlighted the state’s commitment to being business-friendly and providing robust support for various industries. Otti invited investors to seize the opportunities available in Abia, assuring them of the state government’s backing.
