We’Il Not Tolerate Internal Corruption – ICPC Chairman Warns Staff

The chairman made this pledge on Monday while playing host to a delegation from the Civil Society Legislative Centre (CISLAC), who were at the headquarters of ICPC on a courtesy visit.
He said ICPC would continue to live above board and run a responsible organization that will work within the confines of the law to tackle corruption in Nigeria.
As the Chairman of ICPC, I have told Nigerians that we are going to work within the confines of the law and also in accordance with the national best practices to ensure that we tackle this challenge of corruption in this country. We are determined to ensure that we promote good ethical justice and also run a responsible organization that is efficient in its targets and responsibility.
“We will continue to sustain the reputation and integrity that the ICPC is known for, and we are not going to tolerate any corruption within the Commission. Whatever we are going to do, we will ensure that we do it logically.”
The ICPC boss also harped on the role of civil society organisations like CISLAC in the fight against corruption, saying they have been keeping agencies like ICPC on its toes through constant demands for transparency and accountability.
He promised that ICPC will continue to sustain its collaborative efforts with CSOs through many of its initiatives, which include Constituency and Executive Projects Tracking Initiatives (CEPTI), System Studies and Review and others.
Earlier in his remarks, the Executive Director of CISLAC, Mr. Auwal Musa Rafsanjani, stated that the essence of the visit was to reignite the partnership that exists between the centre and ICPC.
He also promised that CISLAC will continue to partner with ICPC, “to support the good work that you are doing and support your leadership to ensure that we minimize the cost of corruption in Nigeria.”

During an appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today, Ogala addressed concerns raised by critics and opposition figures regarding the omission of primary and secondary school details from the personal particulars submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission.

Educational Qualifications: Highlighting that the constitution requires candidates to be educated up to at least the School Certificate level (or equivalent), Ogala argued that Tinubu’s declared Bachelor of Science degree from Chicago State University surpasses this minimum requirement.

Legal Perspective: He likened demanding lower-level school records from someone who holds an advanced university degree to asking a Senior Advocate of Nigeria to repeatedly prove their basic legal credentials.
Dr. Adamu Mohammed Fika, an elder statesman, former Director-General, and Clerk-Designate to the National Assembly, has passed away at a hospital in Abuja. Funeral prayers for the late statesman are scheduled for Friday, August 7, 2026, at the National Mosque in Abuja, while family, associates, and well-wishers continue to mourn his loss as a significant blow to the Fika Emirate, Yobe State, and Nigeria as a whole.
