The Ultimate Agricultural Triumph: Kaduna Govt Seizes Back Massive 500,000 Hectares Of Farmland From Bloodthirsty Bandits In Epic Operation!.
Following enhanced security measures implemented by the Kaduna State government, approximately 500,000 hectares of farmland previously seized by bandits have been successfully reclaimed, allowing farmers to safely return to their lands.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
This update was shared by the state Commissioner for Information and Culture, Ahmed Maiyaki, during a gala night held for the Kano Correspondents’ Chapel as part of their annual retreat in Kaduna. Maiyaki detailed how rural communities had previously lived under the heavy control of bandits who dictated agricultural routines, levied taxes, and even collected dowries.
To turn the tide, the administration combined kinetic strategies with non-kinetic efforts, empowering local stakeholders such as traditional authorities, religious leaders, and youth groups. According to Maiyaki, these initiatives—alongside early warning systems—helped neutralize 70 out of 75 detected security threats between 2023 and early 2026, successfully averting potential communal and religious crises.
The bolstered security climate has further allowed the government to heavily scale up its focus on agriculture, driving budgetary allocations up from ₦1.4 billion in 2023 to more than ₦100 billion by 2026. This funding has driven free fertilizer distribution programs, which have dramatically increased maize yields from a meager three bags per hectare up to 22 bags, ultimately working to curb food insecurity across the region.
The retreat itself, themed “2027 General Elections: Navigating Legal, Security and Ethical Challenges in the Media,” was highlighted earlier by the Chairman of the Kano Correspondents’ Chapel, Murtala Adewale.

‘Without Nigeria South Africa Wouldn’t Have Defeated Apartheid’ – Obasanjo.
Former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo has asserted that South Africa’s liberation from apartheid would not have been possible without Nigeria’s significant and sustained support for the anti-apartheid movement. Speaking during an interview on C-Suite Cafe with Ikem Okuhu, Obasanjo stated that Nigeria’s involvement was not motivated by a desire for financial or political gain, but by a fundamental belief in racial equality and the inherent dignity of all black people.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
He emphasized that Nigeria acted for the betterment of the black race, with the conviction that no individual should be treated as inferior due to their skin color. While acknowledging that Nigeria’s role could be seen as “enlightened self-interest,” he reiterated that the support was provided without expectation of material return.
Obasanjo expressed immense pride in Nigeria’s contribution, stating unequivocally that the end of apartheid would not have occurred when it did without Nigeria’s intervention. He also noted that Nigeria collaborated with numerous African and international leaders in this effort, including Julius Nyerere, Kenneth Kaunda, Samora Machel, Jimmy Carter, James Callaghan, and Olof Palme.
Concluding the interview, the former president addressed the issue of xenophobic attacks in contemporary South Africa, criticizing the authorities for failing to adequately protect African migrants. While acknowledging that illegal or criminal activities by foreigners must be addressed, Obasanjo condemned the use of violence against migrants and their businesses, arguing that illegal acts cannot be remedied by further illegality. He also challenged the notion that migrants are solely responsible for unemployment, highlighting their contributions to the South African economy.

‘Security Surveillance Aircraft Is Another Scam’ – APC Tackles Gov. Makinde Over Fresh Bandit Attack
The Oyo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has labeled Governor Seyi Makinde’s claims regarding the acquisition of two security surveillance aircraft as fraudulent. This sharp critique follows a fresh assault by suspected bandits in the state.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
According to reports, the attackers raided a base belonging to “Operation Burst,” a state security outfit, in the early hours of Sunday. The incident, which took place along the Igbeti/Igboho road, saw the bandits make off with items including a generator and a motorcycle.
In a statement released on Monday and signed by its Publicity Secretary, Wasiu Sadare, the APC condemned the attack as a clear indication of significant security failings. The party argued that this breach has exposed the true state of security in Oyo and cast serious doubt on the operational status of the multi-billion naira surveillance aircraft recently announced by the governor’s administration.
The APC expressed disappointment that the aircraft were not utilized to monitor or intercept the attackers. The statement read, in part:
“Yesterday, the security of the entire state was shaken to its core when insurgents unleashed terror on the Operation Burst Base located along the Igbeti-Igboho road… Since the day Gov. Makinde celebrated the purported delivery of the two aircraft, nothing has been heard or seen of their deployment to survey the airspace. Tragically, the very area where the base station for these aircraft is said to be situated came under heavy attack for over an hour, with no aerial surveillance to track or repel the attackers.
Therefore, it is logical to conclude that the entire narrative surrounding these security surveillance aircraft is another scam.”
