According to Kolapo Alimi, the Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, this incident mirrors a broader trend of targeted raids directed at the residences of various top government officials and commissioners.
-
Alimi noted that the SSG was away attending an INEC stakeholders’ meeting while the raid unfolded, and mentioned that several Accord Party members are currently being detained without bail at the state command’s CID cells.
-
The state government strongly condemned the police actions as a partisan assault intended to back the All Progressives Congress (APC), warning that such behavior undermines democratic stability and threatens peaceful elections.
-
In response to the escalating tensions, Osun State has appealed for urgent intervention from President Bola Tinubu, the Inspector-General of Police, the National Security Adviser, and traditional leaders to prevent a total breakdown of law and order.

Speaking in Umuahia, Abia State, during the 60th memorial service of Nigeria’s first military head of state, General Johnson Thomas Umunnakwe Aguiyi-Ironsi, Obasanjo encouraged citizens to utilize these historical lessons to foster national cohesion, inclusion, and growth.
-
Highlighting that a nation ignorant of its past is bound to repeat its errors, Obasanjo renewed his advocacy for the full reinstatement of History as a school subject.
-
He noted that while these traumatic historical milestones—including Aguiyi-Ironsi’s assassination on July 29, 1966—were marked by division, destruction, and exclusion, they should serve as a source of inspiration for unity and cooperation instead of lingering animosity.
-
Reflecting on Aguiyi-Ironsi, Obasanjo lauded him as a paternal figure who respected junior officers, commemorated his UN peacekeeping service in the Congo, and highlighted his numerous milestones as the first indigenous holder of several senior military ranks.

“‘I Couldn’t Take It Anymore!’ Officer Spills Secrets On Alleged Coup Mastermind’s Womanizing Ways!”.
-
According to an extrajudicial statement compiled in over 7,400 pages of investigative documents, Lt. Col. Shamsuddeen Bappah of the Nigerian Army Signals Corps admitted that his skepticism regarding the purported 2025 coup plot stemmed from doubts about the character and judgment of Col. Mohammed Ma’aji.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Bappah stated that he began questioning Ma’aji’s capability to lead the nation after losing confidence due to Ma’aji’s numerous relationships with women—which he believed could expose the group to blackmail—as well as his heavy reliance on spiritualists and Islamic clerics.
-
Investigations revealed that the alleged conspiracy emerged after security agencies received intelligence in September 2025 regarding a plot by military personnel and civilians to violently overthrow President Bola Tinubu’s administration and target key government officials.
-
Bappah disclosed that discussions about changing the government with Ma’aji spanned four to five years, starting from their days at the Nigerian Defence Academy and progressing through meetings at locations such as the Command Guest House in Kaduna and Ma’aji’s residence in Lokogoma, Abuja.
-
Despite harboring reservations, Bappah was allegedly assigned operational responsibilities including seizing the 102 Battalion in Zuma, Niger State, preparing to read a takeover speech, and receiving funds totaling ₦5 million alongside ₦1.5 million to repair an official vehicle for assignment use.
-
Another suspect, Lt. Cdr Bayawo Abdullahi, also expressed doubts after Ma’aji reportedly failed to complete logistical arrangements, leading Abdullahi to dismiss him as a joker and stop responding to messages, though he admitted regret for failing to report the plan to authorities.
-
Ma’aji, a 50-year-old infantry officer from Niger State and member of the NDA 47 Regular Course who served in roles such as Commanding Officer of the 19 Battalion in Okitipupa, is now facing prosecution alongside other suspects before a military General Court Martial and the Federal High Court in Abuja.
