Although Napoli’s Victor Osimhen remains a primary target for a new striker in 2024, financial constraints may render the Nigerian international too costly this month. Consequently, Chelsea is exploring alternative avenues, with recent reports suggesting Benzema and Firmino as potential targets.

The Telegraph reports that Chelsea is turning its attention to Saudi Arabia, where both Benzema and Firmino are rumored to be contemplating a return to Europe. Marca’s reports indicate that Benzema, who joined Al Ittihad this summer, has not resumed training after an approved leave, leading to his exclusion from the first-team squad by manager Marcelo Gallardo. With an uncertain future at the Saudi side, where he scored 12 goals in 20 appearances, Benzema’s availability raises questions.

Similarly, Firmino, the former Liverpool striker, is reportedly exploring the prospect of returning to European football. Chelsea’s interest in these potential loan deals underscores their pressing need to address scoring challenges and bolster attacking options in the current campaign.
