In a statement released on Saturday, Dangote acknowledged Tinubu’s pivotal role in surmounting challenges and expediting the project’s completion. He also expressed gratitude to the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC), regulatory bodies, and the Nigerian populace for their trust in the venture.

Dangote declared, “This is a momentous day for Nigeria. We are thrilled to have achieved this significant milestone, showcasing our nation’s capability to develop and deliver large-scale capital projects. Having received six million barrels of crude oil, the refinery is poised to commence fuel distribution within the month, subject to regulatory approvals. The products will adhere to stringent Euro V emission standards, underscoring the refinery’s commitment to environmental responsibility.

Equipped to load 2,900 trucks daily at its truck-loading gantries, the refinery’s products will meet Euro V specifications, aligning with global emission norms set by entities such as the World Bank, US EPA, and European standards, as well as the Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) emission/effluent norms, incorporating state-of-the-art technology.

Dangote extended his appreciation to financial institutions, the Lagos State government led by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, and the project’s host communities for their pivotal contributions.

He specifically lauded the host communities for their patience and collaborative spirit in resolving challenges throughout the construction process. Dangote expressed gratitude to the staff for their immense contributions to the project’s success, emphasizing the significant role they played.

Reports indicate that the directive was issued on Thursday during an inspection tour of the ongoing construction along Arterial Road N16, which links Ring Road II to Ring Road III. The action came after the acting Executive Secretary of the Federal Capital Development Authority, Richard Dauda, briefed the minister on buildings encroaching directly onto the project’s path.

Emphasizing that no illegal development will be tolerated to compromise critical public infrastructure or alter the Abuja Master Plan, Wike instructed the Department of Development Control to clear the obstructions right away.

“We’ll have to demolish this right now. How can it be like this? It’s a road and not a layout,” the minister stated.

Describing Arterial Road N16 as a vital project slated for completion by December, Wike also inspected progress on the five-kilometer Zaudna-Kaba-Kagini Road and a Magistrate Court under construction in Garki.

“WE ARE THE BEST IN THE WORLD!” Mikel Arteta Unleashes Fearless Ambition As Arsenal’s Title Charge Begins!.

The Spanish manager made this statement just a day before Arsenal’s opening fixture of the 2026/27 Premier League campaign on Friday, August 21.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Reports indicate that the Gunners will kick off their title defense at home against newly-promoted Coventry. This milestone marks the first time in 22 years that Arsenal enters a new English top-flight season as defending champions.

The occasion also signifies the dawn of a new era following Pep Guardiola’s resignation from Manchester City at the conclusion of the previous campaign, having secured six Premier League titles during his tenure. Arteta, who previously worked under Guardiola before taking the helm at Arsenal in 2019, expressed full confidence in matching that high standard of success.

Speaking to Sky Sports this week, Arteta outlined the club’s lofty aspirations:

“It’s certainly the ambition of the club and the owners to be the best club in the world. In order to do that, you need the best facilities, the best stadium, the best supporters, and you need the best squad and the best players in the world. That’s what we try to build with the actual players that we have, and with the players that we want to sign to make the difference for Arsenal.”

Notably, Arsenal has not secured consecutive English league titles since the 1930s—a feat that eluded even Arsène Wenger’s legendary “Invincibles.” Although last season ended with a narrow penalty shootout defeat to Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) in the Champions League final, Arteta remains heavily driven to build upon the club’s recent progress.

“It’s very difficult. You have to raise the level from every angle,” Arteta concluded. “When I look into the eyes of my players, I see that fire, that desire and the will to be better every single day.”
