During November and the early days of December, Postecoglou’s squad only managed one point from five games. However, they have since rebounded, winning four out of their last five league matches.

Their upcoming league clash against Manchester United on Sunday at 5:30 p.m. presents an opportunity to narrow the 6-point gap between them and the league leaders, Liverpool. Despite acknowledging that Spurs have evolved from their earlier form this season, especially with recent signings like Romanian center-back Radu Dragusin and German forward Timo Werner, Postecoglou remains determined to finish the season strongly.

“By definition, we are, aren’t we? So, yes we are,” affirmed Postecoglou. “I’ve said all along that until the point where you’re not, why would you discount the possibility? We’ve gone through a really tough period and we’re hanging in there. We had four games when results went against us, but we’ve clawed our way back. We’re still in there.”

He emphasized the importance of finishing the season stronger than the first half and acknowledged the team’s consistent performances. Postecoglou expressed confidence in tackling upcoming challenges, including progressing in the cup, without fear.

“We certainly want to tackle them as robustly as possible without any fear – or fear of not achieving anything. We’ve done it from day one. We’ve had a vision of the sort of football we want to play, and some parts are really, really good and have surprised me with the progress, and other parts we’re still in the early stages of development,” concluded Postecoglou.

Additionally, the Senator expressed strong support for the APC’s prospects in Ebonyi State and lauded President Bola Tinubu for prioritizing infrastructure development in the South-East. He further praised Governor Francis Nwifuru as a unifying leader, dismissing rumors of friction within the Izzi clan and calling on stakeholders to prioritize the state’s collective development over divisive politics.

On Sunday, May 31, 2026, thousands of Arsenal fans flooded the streets of north London to celebrate the club’s first Premier League title since 2004, successfully shifting the focus from their Champions League final loss the previous day. The festivities, which began after 2 p.m. at the Emirates Stadium, wound through Highbury, Canonbury, and Upper Street before concluding back at the stadium. This parade honored a league victory confirmed on May 19, ending a 22-year championship drought. During the event, fans were seen climbing trees and rooftops to see Mikel Arteta’s squad as the players showcased the Premier League trophy. The procession included four buses, one of which carried the Arsenal Women’s team, winners of the inaugural Women’s Champions Cup this past February.

This celebration followed a heartbreaking 1-1 draw against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League final in Budapest on Saturday, where Arsenal ultimately fell in a penalty shootout after misses by Eberechi Eze and Gabriel Magalhaes. Despite the European defeat, the Premier League title held immense significance for the team, coming after three consecutive seasons as runners-up. Reflecting on the massive turnout, journalist Matt Graveling described the celebration as the largest sporting event he had witnessed in his 15-year career.
