Adeoye revealed these developments during a press briefing held at the police headquarters in Awka, providing details about the arrests and showcasing some of the seized items. The arrests were conducted between December 1, 2023, and the present date.

During the operations, two kidnapped victims were successfully rescued, but not without some injuries sustained by police officers engaged in the confrontations with criminals.

The commissioner outlined that among the 30 suspects, there were 12 individuals suspected of kidnapping, nine involved in armed robbery, six associated with cult activities, and three connected to insurgency.

The arrests were carried out based on intelligence gathered, and the suspects were apprehended at various locations.

In addition to the arrests, the police successfully recovered 11 stolen vehicles, 12 firearms, and 40 live ammunition from the criminal groups.

Adeoye emphasized the commitment of the police force to ensuring the safety of Anambra State, highlighting efforts made during the Christmas and New Year celebrations to target criminals. He provided specific details about the pursuit of criminals responsible for killing two police officers and subsequent operations that led to the apprehension of suspects and the rescue of a kidnapped individual.

The commissioner assured the public that the police would persist in their efforts to bring criminals to justice, expressing gratitude for the cooperation of the community in providing valuable tips.

He concluded by sharing that the police command had refrained from publicizing their successes during the festive season, opting to provide an update when citizens were in a more relaxed state, and reiterated the commitment to ongoing efforts against criminal elements in the state.
