The former Abia State governor urged Nigerians to exercise patience with Tinubu, emphasizing his diligent efforts to reposition the country’s economy and restore its lost glory.

Kalu stated, “The APC government is cutting the cloth into pieces. Before you sew a cloth, you will first cut it into pieces before you start sewing the cloth; so, Tinubu is busy cutting the cloth into pieces. So, give us another three years or two years; people are suffering, we understand that. Give us more two years for the cloth we want to sew to be sewn very well.”

In a related development, former Ogun State Governor Olusegun Osoba revealed that President Bola Tinubu is set to sign an executive order aimed at discouraging Nigerians from hoarding cash in their homes.

Osoba made this revelation during an interview with Arise TV, disclosing that the executive order aims to prompt Nigerians to bring out funds hoarded in their homes into the bank’s vault.

Osoba shared, “During my discussion with President Bola Tinubu on Christmas Day, he disclosed to me that he is preparing a document to encourage Nigerians to bring out hidden funds that are currently out of the banking system and causing cash scarcity.

Obi Thinks Short-Term, Tinubu Thinks Of Future Generations’ – Oshiomhole.

The Senator representing Edo North, Adams Oshiomhole, has criticised the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Peter Obi, describing him as a trader whose thinking is centred on short-term returns rather than sustainable national development.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Speaking during an appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Thursday, Oshiomhole compared Obi’s approach to governance with that of President Bola Tinubu.

The former Edo State governor argued that a true statesman should focus on building institutions and policies that would benefit future generations rather than pursuing immediate gains.

Oshiomhole also claimed that Obi had failed to present any clear alternative to the policies of the Tinubu administration ahead of the 2027 general elections.

He said: “Peter Obi has not offered any alternative. I think it is you or someone else who asked him for security, what will you do differently? He said, it’s in his heart.

“I’ve always said that Peter Obi is a trader; the logic of a trader is short term turnover. A statesman that Tinubu represents thinks of the next generation.”

The lawmaker further questioned whether Obi would retain some of the policies introduced by the Tinubu administration if elected president in 2027.

In particular, he raised concerns about the future of the student loan scheme and whether an incoming government would restore the multiple exchange rate system previously operated in Nigeria.

Oshiomhole also challenged Obi to clarify whether he would scrap the student loan programme, arguing that the policy was introduced because not every Nigerian parent could afford the cost of their children’s education.

He asked: “Will you abolish the student loan scheme? You think President Tinubu will have introduced a student loan if he thought every Nigerian parent can afford it? Will the new people come who are looking for the job, would they abolish it?”

The former governor acknowledged the constitutional right of opposition politicians to contest the presidency but maintained that Tinubu deserved another opportunity to continue governing the country.

According to Oshiomhole, the President should be allowed to build on the progress of his administration after navigating what he described as the initial challenges of implementing its policies, rather than having a new leader take over.

According to Naija News, Atiku’s Special Adviser on New Media, Royalty Uso, disclosed the incident in a post shared on his official account on Thursday.

Uso alleged that the attack occurred while the former Vice President’s convoy was travelling through Kebbi State for campaign activities.

He claimed that suspected hoodlums blocked the convoy, threw stones at vehicles and attacked members of the media team accompanying the campaign.

The presidential aide accused the attackers of being sponsored by the All Progressives Congress (APC), alleging that their intention was to intimidate supporters and prevent journalists from reporting the campaign activities.

He further disclosed that several pieces of equipment belonging to the media crew were destroyed during the incident.

In his post, Uso wrote: “Attack on HE Atiku Abubakar’s convoy in Kebbi State by APC-sponsored thugs. APC-sponsored thugs attack the ADC presidential campaign convoy in Kebbi. Most of the gadgets belonging to the camera and video crew were destroyed in the attack. Cameras, video equipment, tripods and other working tools were smashed, leaving the crew unable to continue live coverage of the campaign.

“The thugs did not come to steal. They came to destroy. They targeted our cameras and video crew because they did not want Nigerians to see what is happening here in Kebbi.”

However, the allegation that the attackers were sponsored by the APC was made by Atiku’s aide.
