Kalu Assures Nnamdi Kanu’s Release Soon Amid Supreme Court Retrial
Levinus Nwabughiogu, Chief Press Secretary to Kalu, provided an update in a statement from Abuja…CONTINUE READING....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The Supreme Court recently ordered a retrial for Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of IPOB, who has been detained for an extended period.
Kanu’s imprisonment triggered widespread agitation, including the Sit-at-Home protests observed on Mondays in the southeast.
During an interview on FLO FM’s “South East political Roundtable,” Kalu stressed the need to cease the Sit-at-Home observance due to its negative impact on attracting investors to the southeast.
He also discussed the Peace In South East Project (PISE-P), launched in Abia State’s Bende Local Government Area, urging armed individuals to adopt this non-kinetic approach to resolve security challenges and regional grievances.
Kalu appealed for support to enable President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration to achieve its goals, particularly in southeast development, confirming the President’s interest in the region’s progress.
He stated, “We can’t disclose all our programs and plans on social media. He’s my brother. Is he part of what we are trying to do? Yes! Ensuring his release is one of our agendas. Who wants their brother to be in jail?
“We are working behind the scenes. There’s a detailed strategy. Violence won’t work; you can’t coerce the government through violence. Let’s be wiser. Wisdom lies in peace. Let’s extinguish the violence.
“If it’s chaotic, it won’t work. Let’s calm down. Let him see that you recognize he didn’t contribute to locking him up and that he has not harmed the south east. Support him and his government; don’t attack him.
I stand against the voice of violence, advocating peace. That is my purpose here; this voice of peace will resonate through the Villa, and he will come out. Mr. President was pleased with what happened in Bende. The entire country can unite to support this project.
“Our strength doesn’t rely on how many guns we possess, on how many people we threaten not to come out on Monday. That is not the demonstration of an Igbo man’s strength. Igbo men aren’t lazy people sitting at home from Saturday to Sunday to Monday, working only Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.
That is not us; we are hardworking, we are rebuilders. We are never down, and when we are down, we find a way to stand on our feet, raise our shoulders, and rebuild again. That is my message to our people.”

GLOBAL TERROR NETWORK ROCKED: ISIS Second-In-Command Eliminated In Joint U.S.-Nigeria Strike!.
United States Secretary of State Marco Rubio has formally announced a significant escalation in counterterrorism cooperation between Washington and Abuja, detailing a recent high-impact joint operation that resulted in the elimination of a top global ISIS leader within Nigeria.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Rubio made these statements during a hearing before the House Foreign Affairs Committee regarding the State Department’s FY27 budget request, which was held on Wednesday in Washington, DC.
The U.S. official emphasized that the United States remains deeply concerned about the rising tide of violence in Nigeria, specifically highlighting attacks against Christians. He stated that this concern has translated into a new phase of active counterterrorism partnership with Nigerian authorities.
“We are now actively in counterterrorism cooperation with the Nigerian government and Nigerian security forces, including a joint operation a couple of weeks ago that took out the number two leader of global ISIS operating from inside of the country, and that continues,” Rubio informed the committee.
The operation, which was a coordinated U.S.-Nigerian assault on May 15, targeted the compound of Abu-Bilal Al-Minuki, identified as the second-in-command of global ISIS operations. The high-value target’s stronghold was located in the volatile Lake Chad Basin region.
Adding crucial context, U.S. Secretary of Defence Pete Hegseth further confirmed that Al-Minuki was the primary figure responsible for directing and executing multiple attacks on Christian communities across Nigeria.
President Bola Tinubu of Nigeria had previously confirmed the death of Al-Minuki, noting that several of his top lieutenants were also neutralized in the precise mission. Tinubu expressed his strong desire for continued, decisive military strikes against all terrorist enclaves within the country.
Since the successful elimination of Al-Minuki, subsequent reports indicate that more joint U.S.-Nigerian operations have targeted and destroyed terrorist positions. Just days after the initial operation, Nigeria’s Defence Headquarters announced that a series of joint airstrikes in Metele, Borno State, had killed more than 20 ISIS/ISWAP fighters. Furthermore, on June 1, a separate airstrike in Arege, Kukawa Local Government Area of Borno State, conducted by the Nigerian military in collaboration with the United States Africa Command, resulted in the death of an additional 21 ISWAP insurgents.
