He underscored that President Bola Tinubu, in collaboration with state governors, is actively engaged in addressing challenges arising from the removal of the petrol subsidy, aiming to mitigate associated hardships.
Governor Inuwa Yahaya emphasized that substantial investments are being made to uplift Nigerians from their current economic difficulties.
“We fervently pray that these hardships will soon come to an end by the grace of God. With the unwavering determination of Mr. President and the governors, we are committed to ensuring stability in Nigeria.
“We are moving swiftly to alleviate the difficulties resulting from the subsidy removal. The primary cause of this hardship is the withdrawal of the fuel subsidy. However, as of today, the Port Harcourt refinery is resuming production.
“In the near future, our locally refined petroleum products will be accessible to the people, and there is no reason for these locally made products to cost as much as they currently do,” he stated.
The governor applauded the residents of the state and Nigerians for their patience since the subsidy removal, providing assurance that brighter days are ahead.

According to a statement released on Friday by Deputy Corps Commander in charge of Operations Kyrian Okolo, Agbakoba passed away on Thursday, July 30, while undergoing treatment at the Niger Foundation Hospital in Enugu. His remains have since been moved to the Eastern Medical Centre in Enugu.
While the statement did not disclose the specific cause or details surrounding his death, the FRSC paid tribute to his impactful tenure. Street-pop artist Habeeb Okikiola, widely known as Portable, was disqualified after exiting the ring before the first round concluded against actor Charles Okocha. The bout, billed as “Unfinished Business,” briefly descended into chaos following a wrestling exchange that required security intervention. Portable left the ring and, despite attempting a later return, officials ruled him out, awarding the win to Okocha. Prior to the fight, Portable had expressed his state of mind, stating, “I am not happy, but I want God to make me happy and my family.”
Before the controversial main event, Basit “Joker Boy” Adebayo delivered one of the night’s premier performances by stopping Said Mohamed Hassan in the second round. Elsewhere on the card, Michael Babalola maintained his unblemished professional record with a unanimous decision win against Abidemi Rabiu, while Shiloh “Sugar Shy” Defreitas defeated Ghana’s Eric “Kojo” Quarm via unanimous decision in their welterweight bout.
In the evening’s other celebrity matchup, music artists Mr Real and Idowest battled to a five-round draw. Idowest contested the decision, arguing he did enough to win, prompting organizers to announce a rematch scheduled for October 1.
