The President discussed the difficult decisions taken, such as the removal of the fuel subsidy and reforms in the foreign exchange system. He acknowledged the rising cost of living, high inflation, and underemployment, empathizing with the citizens’ frustrations.
While recognizing the ongoing security challenges, the President emphasized efforts to bring peace to homes, workplaces, and roads. Economic recovery plans, including power projects and refinery initiatives, were outlined, with a focus on steady electricity supply and local refining of petroleum products.
To ensure food security, plans to cultivate 500,000 hectares of farmland and simplify fiscal and tax policies were emphasized. The President affirmed Nigeria’s readiness for business and pledged to fight obstacles hindering competitiveness.
