In a statement released on Saturday, Jang expressed deep condolences to the families affected by the Christmas Eve attacks in Bokkos, Mangu, and Barkin Ladi Local Government areas of Plateau State. The violence, carried out by what he described as “marauding terrorists,” has left a lasting impact on the affected communities.
Jang emphasized the gravity of the situation, stating, “Choosing to murder harmless villagers in their homes as they prepared to celebrate the yuletide is the most horrendous wickedness that anyone could imagine.” He condemned the apparent lack of arrests and prosecutions of the perpetrators, noting that this has emboldened the assailants to continue their reign of terror.
The former governor called on the federal government to heed the longstanding call for the establishment of State police. He argued that empowering State Governors with the authority to deploy personnel promptly would enhance security, facilitate early crisis response, and address the challenges of insecurity effectively.
As Jang urged the National Assembly to prioritize and act urgently on the matter, he emphasized, “The killings are getting out of hand, and the State Police option is viable for nipping these massacres in the bud.”

Furthermore, the party claims that when Jeffrey Wobodo attempted to secure bail for the detainees, the Isiokpo Area Commander, ACP Felix Ojiaku, stated that the men would be charged with cultism due to an “order from above.” The ADC has strongly condemned this rationale, asserting that “political opposition is not cultism” and that peaceful political participation is a constitutional right, not a criminal offense.
The ADC is also calling attention to a pattern of intimidation against opposition figures in the region.
