Just In: FCT Police Impound 17 Vehicles Linked To ‘One Chance’ Crimes In One-Month Crackdown

In a concerted effort to curb the surge in “one chance” criminal activities, the FCT Police Command has successfully impounded 17 vehicles over the course of one month. The confiscated vehicles, all possessing tinted glasses and lacking number plates, were apprehended between December 1 and 29 by the Anti-One Chance Clearance Squad of the FCT Police Command. Commissioner Garba emphasized that the individuals operating these vehicles are currently undergoing questioning to establish their involvement in the notorious “one chance” criminal operations.

Commissioner Haruna Garba emphasized that those found guilty during the investigation will face legal consequences as they will be charged in court. The commitment to holding perpetrators accountable is a central element of the ongoing efforts to tackle this form of criminal activity.

Providing further details, Commissioner Garba highlighted a specific success achieved by operatives from the Galadima Division on December 15. During this operation, two suspected “one chance” operators were apprehended, while three others managed to escape. The arrests were made based on credible intelligence, and a subsequent search of the apprehended vehicle resulted in the recovery of a pump-action gun with two cartridges, ATM cards, and other valuables believed to have been stolen from victims. The victim’s vehicle, a KIA Sorento, and the operational vehicle of the criminals were also successfully recovered by the police.

The swift and decisive actions of the FCT Police Command underscore their commitment to ensuring the safety and security of residents in the Federal Capital Territory, and the impounding of these vehicles represents a significant step in the ongoing fight against “one chance” criminal activities.
