Nigerians React As Senator Opeyemi Bamidele Accuses Saboteurs Of Undermining President Tinubu’s Economic Initiatives

Speaking to journalists in his Iyin-Ekiti country home in Irepodun/Ifelodun Local Government Area of Ekiti State on Tuesday, December 26, the Senate leader for Ekiti Central Senatorial District stated that these saboteurs are obstructing the administration’s efforts to manipulate the foreign exchange market (forex) for personal gain.
Bamidele highlighted the detrimental impact on manufacturing and productive sectors, as the lack of access to forex hinders the importation of raw materials, spare parts, and machinery.
He lamented the actions of those opposing President Tinubu’s economic policies, suggesting that their motivations are rooted in protecting their selfish interests at the expense of the nation.
Bamidele affirmed that the federal government will crack down on economic saboteurs in the coming year, as they are closely monitored.
He acknowledged the current hardships resulting from oil subsidy removal and sabotage but assured Nigerians that President Tinubu remains steadfast in bringing relief.
Bamidele expressed confidence in the transformative impact of the 2024 budget, promising relief in the next few months and urged Nigerians not to lose hope in President Tinubu’s leadership.
Additionally, he affirmed the Senate’s commitment to passing the N27.5 trillion budget before the year-end deadline, ensuring a January to December budget implementation cycle.

Dangyatin assumed the position during the conference’s annual congress and executive elections held in Abuja. The body aims to enhance coordination among APC Speakers, promote party ideals, foster unity, and support democracy, peace, and national development.
Other key positions filled include the Ebonyi State Assembly Speaker as Deputy Chairman (South), the Nasarawa State Assembly Speaker as Deputy Chairman (North), and the Ondo State Assembly Speaker as Treasurer. Six zonal vice chairmen were also elected, including Ogun State’s Rt. Hon. Oludaisi Elemide for the South-West zone and Plateau State’s Speaker for the North-Central zone. The new executive members are set to be sworn in on Monday, February 9, 2026.
Jigawa Governor Malam Umar Namadi congratulated Dangyatin, calling the election well deserved and expressing confidence that he would strengthen collaboration among APC members ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The footage captures Tambuwal declining a seat offered by former APC National Chairman Abdullahi Ganduje, pointing at the party flag and reportedly asking for it to be removed. After intervention from Ganduje and others, Tambuwal eventually sat, though the brief standoff has sparked reactions online.
Tambuwal, also a former Speaker of the House of Representatives, is now a key figure in the ADC, which is positioned to challenge President Bola Tinubu’s APC in the 2027 elections.
Separately, former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi has urged ADC supporters and the Obidient Movement to unite, saying a “child of nobody” can achieve greatness without backing from any cabal. He made the call during a Saturday meeting in Asaba, Delta State.

Obi made the call as he urged supporters of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and the Obidient Movement to close ranks and work together ahead of upcoming elections.
In a statement on Sunday, Obi said he delivered the message on Saturday during a joint meeting with ADC and Obidient Movement members in Asaba, Delta State.
The former Anambra State governor said the objective is to build a capable government focused on tackling Nigeria’s major challenges, including insecurity, poverty, education, healthcare and hunger.
He stressed that national resources must serve all citizens, not a privileged few.
According to him, “On Saturday, February 7, in Asaba, I met with the ADC and the Obidient Movement and stressed the need to unite as one family in pursuit of a common goal — building a new and united Nigeria.
“Nigeria today requires unity across regions. We must come together to install leadership with capacity, compassion and commitment to address security, poverty, education, healthcare and hunger.
“Our politics must shift from transactions and rent-seeking to using national resources to create shared prosperity. In the new Nigeria we seek, a child of nobody can rise to greatness without the support of any cabal.
“A new Nigeria is POssible.”
