This unfortunate incident occurred in Katsaita village, Yobe State, around 11:40 pm on Thursday. Residents reported hearing a thunderous explosion from the tower side during the attack.
The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has confirmed that the T372 tower was vandalized, causing a domino effect that brought down the 330Kva transmission tower (T373). TCN is mobilizing its constructors to swiftly reconstruct the damaged towers.
Nigerians are expressing solidarity and calling for increased efforts to combat insurgency and safeguard vital infrastructure.
The TCN has condemned the incident, expressing regret for the inconvenience caused and appealing to host communities for cooperation in preserving national power infrastructure.
