The governor, attending the event through the Renewed Hope Initiative Elderly Support Scheme (RHIESS), led by Senator Oluremi Tinubu, praised the initiative for focusing on enhancing the lives of vulnerable groups. He commended Senator Tinubu for her role in complementing her husband’s administration and urged other governors’ wives to emulate her commitment to social welfare.
Governor Nwifuru expressed his delight in participating in the program and emphasized the importance of human capital development for city development. He affirmed his commitment to ensuring that every family in the state experiences blessings through his initiatives, announcing the special Christmas bonus for civil servants.
Mrs. Uzoamaka Nwifuru, the governor’s wife, applauded the efforts of the First Lady in enhancing the lives of Nigerians, especially the elderly and vulnerable. She disclosed that the 500 beneficiaries of the RHIESS program would each receive N100,000 and a bag of rice.
