Just In: Delta State Governor’s Wife Urges-Patience In Yuletide Celebrations (View Text)
Mrs. Tobore Oborevwori, the wife of the governor of Delta State, has made an appeal to the people of the state, asking for patience as her husband continues to lead the oil-rich state. The gathering took place at the Banquet Hall, Government House Asaba, where the governor’s wife welcomed the market women from all 25 local government areas of the state. In her address, she expressed gratitude for the support received during the 2023 governorship election and emphasized the importance of appreciating the market women who played a significant role in the election.
Mrs. Oborevwori stated, “I welcome you all to this get-together to say thank you for standing by us during the last election. What you are enjoying today is the hard work you did in the last election, and I am here to greet you for a job well done.” She reiterated the commitment to include market women in governance, a promise made during the election campaign.
Acknowledging the challenging economic conditions, she urged patience from the women, recognizing the importance of electricity and roads in their communities. Mrs. Oborevwori assured that she would discuss these concerns with her husband, understanding the high expectations of the people. She emphasized, “Please give us more time. We are aware of the sufferings of our people.”
As the founder of the You Matter Charity Foundation, the governor’s wife highlighted the significance of the end-of-year party for market women, underscoring the value of every individual in her pet project. Mrs. Oborevwori concluded by encouraging women in the state to be patient with the government’s MORE Agenda led by Governor Sheriff Oborevweri, assuring that efforts are ongoing to deliver on promises.
