The overarching goal of the project is a comprehensive five-year plan focused on peace-building and development. It aims to address the intricate socioeconomic challenges and security issues prevalent in Nigeria’s South-East region. Emphasizing non-kinetic methods, the initiative seeks to resolve lingering violence, enhance infrastructure, and promote greater political inclusion for the region on a national scale.
During a courtesy visit by a PISE-P delegation, led by Kalu, Chief Emeka Offor praised the initiative, considering it a positive development. Noting the project’s eight fundamental pillars—Education, Agriculture, Commerce/Industry, Infrastructural Development, Culture and Tourism, Sports/Entertainment, Governance/Leadership, and Reconciliation/Rehabilitation/Reintegration—Offor commended PISE-P for its well-positioned approach to breathing new life into the South-East by addressing security challenges.
Chief Emeka Offor generously donated millions of Naira to support the initiative, urging other notable Igbo figures and Nigerians from diverse backgrounds to rally behind the project. Similarly, billionaire businessman Chief Arthur Eze has reaffirmed his commitment to the initiative by promising substantial financial support. Notably, Kalu had previously briefed Eze on the mission of PISE-P, resulting in a substantial financial pledge from the prominent businessman.
The official unveiling of PISE-P is scheduled for Friday, December 29, 2023, in the Bende Local Government Area of Abia State, according to reports from The Authority.
