Anambra Assembly Endorses Governor Soludo’s 2024-Budget Of N410 Billion  (Details)

The endorsement of the Appropriation Bill followed the adoption of the report presented by the House Committee on Finance and Appropriation during the same Thursday plenary. Committee Chairman, Mr Ejike Okechukwu, recommended retaining the budget size as initially proposed by the governor.

Okechukwu disclosed that the capital expenditure, set at N313,930,288,526 (77 per cent), and the recurrent expenditure, standing at N96,201,936,746 (23 per cent), remained unchanged from the governor’s presentation. He highlighted the committee’s diligent review process, which included discussions and scrutiny with heads of ministries, departments, and agencies (MDAs), resulting in minor adjustments that aligned with the various MDAs’ needs while adhering to the overall budget structure.

Commending the committee for its meticulous examination of the budget, Speaker of the House, Dr Somtochukwu Udeze, conducted a voice vote, leading to the unanimous adoption of the report.
