Initiating an investigation following concerns raised by the circulating image, NAFDAC launched a targeted operation to address the reported production of adulterated beverages in the state. The operation, part of NAFDAC’s heightened efforts to combat fake consumables, particularly beverages, revealed multiple facilities engaged in illicit production.
Collaborating with security agencies, the operation exposed clandestine setups counterfeiting popular brands of wines, soft drinks, and other consumables. The seized facilities were operating under unhygienic conditions, utilizing questionable ingredients, recycled bottles, and cloned packaging materials, raising serious concerns about the safety and authenticity of the manufactured products.
As part of the operation, NAFDAC destroyed a significant quantity of confiscated fake and substandard products, estimated at a considerable monetary value. Several individuals associated with these illegal operations were apprehended and will undergo thorough investigations, followed by legal actions.
NAFDAC urged citizens to remain vigilant and promptly report any suspicious activities related to the production or distribution of counterfeit goods to the nearest NAFDAC office.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain denied calling for the killing of political opponents, stressing that he opposed political violence and intimidation.
He said, “Which group? How will I rent somebody’s house and make it a terrorist house? I didn’t make my house in the village; I didn’t make my house in the town. Have I ever killed anybody? Where is the killer squad?”
“I did not say they should be killed. Whether Accord or PDP or APC, they are all my constituents; they are all my members. They know what they are doing.
“I don’t preach violence, but when it is hot, I will tell them, ‘Enough of killing.’ He should leave my people alone.”
Fadahunsi also described the viral video on ‘kill Accord Party members’ as a manipulated recording and accused political opponents of trying to portray him as supporting violence.
