BREAKING: INEC Receives Formal Notification From Rivers Speaker, Ehie, For Bye-Election Over Political Seats (Photos)
The Rivers State House of Assembly Speaker, Hon. Ehie Ogerenye Edison, has officially notified the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) about 25 vacant seats in the State Assembly, requesting the organization of a bye-election…..CONTINUE READING....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The letter, dated December 14, 2023, titled “NOTICE OF VACANCIES IN THE RIVERS STATE HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY PURSUANT TO SECTION 109(1)(G) AND (2) OF THE CONSTITUTION OF THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA 1999 (AS AMENDED) AND REQUEST FOR CONDUCT OF FRESH ELECTIONS IN THE 25 STATE CONSTITUENCIES IN THE RIVERS STATE HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY,” highlights the defection of members from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC) on December 11, 2023.
The letter explains that, based on Section 109(1) (g) of the Constitution, these members’ seats were declared vacant through a resolution passed during the 90th Legislative Sitting on December 13, 2023. The Speaker, acting on behalf of the Rivers State House of Assembly, formally seeks the conduct of a bye-election to fill the vacant seats.
The defection of 27 lawmakers, led by Martins Amaewhule, from the PDP to the APC, prompted swift action from Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s camp. Legislators loyal to the governor declared the defectors’ seats vacant. Amaewhule’s faction is purportedly supported by Nyesom Wike, intensifying the ongoing power struggle between Wike and Fubara for control of the state’s political structure.
Notably, the State High Court in Port Harcourt recently issued an order allowing the four-member Rivers House of Assembly backed by Fubara to conduct legislative business without interference. Simultaneously, the state government, in the same week, ordered the demolition of the assembly complex, citing concerns about structural defects.

“We Will Bring The Battle To Your Bedroom”: Wike’s Loyalist Unleashes Unprecedented Attack On Amaechi For 2027!.
Samuel Okechukwu Nwanosike, also known as Ishi Nwanosike and former Chairman of Ikwerre Local Government Area in Rivers State, has issued a stern political warning regarding former Governor Rotimi Amaechi ahead of the 2027 general election.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
In a widely circulated video, Nwanosike—a staunch loyalist of FCT Minister Nyesom Wike—asserted that it will be an uphill battle for Amaechi to secure any electoral victory in Rivers State. Nwanosike criticized the former governor and current political figure, claiming that despite holding major public offices over the past twenty years, the Ikwerre people have received minimal benefit from his leadership and that he has allegedly undermined his peers.
Highlighting the intensity of the upcoming political contest, Nwanosike warned that the opposition faction should stay away until legal matters regarding party recognition are resolved, stating that the ensuing campaign conflict would extend far beyond public streets and directly to the doorstep of the former governor.
“Amaechi was in the House of Assembly two times, Ikwerre people supported him to be governor two times, and he was a minister for two tenures. Instead of helping the Ikwerre people, he decided to destroy even his friends. Yet he believes that it’s only him that is from the Ikwerre Local Government.
“We are here to tell the world and his political faction that until the Supreme Court decides which faction of the ADC is to be recognized by INEC, they should not bother coming home. E go red.
“We will bring the battle to their bedroom not the street,” he stated.

The Shocking Truth: Wike Addresses Heavy Lobbying For Top APC Campaign Role!.
Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has dismissed rumors that he is lobbying to become the Director-General of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council for the 2027 general election.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Speaking through his Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media, Lere Olayinka, Wike clarified that he has not discussed holding any leadership or membership role within the proposed campaign council. The rumors had previously named him among several key officials allegedly eyeing the top campaign post for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid.
Addressing the claims, Wike reaffirmed his unwavering support for President Tinubu’s second-term aspirations, emphasizing that his backing is entirely independent of any formal campaign appointment.
Currently vacationing abroad after more than 30 consecutive days of heavy project inspections, commissionings, and new project flag-offs in the FCT—with more set for December and January—Wike stated that his immediate priority upon returning remains unchanged. He intends to focus fully on delivering his ministerial mandate under the Renewed Hope Agenda and securing a massive electoral victory for President Tinubu in both Rivers State and the FCT, with or without an official campaign title.
“Therefore, I do not need to be the DG or even member of the Presidential Campaign Council of Mr President’s political party to contribute my quota by ensuring that he wins handsomely in Rivers State and the FCT,” Wike stated.

In a separate development, Wike commented on political realignments ahead of the 2027 elections, asserting that former Transportation Minister Rotimi Amaechi cannot add substantial value to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar’s political prospects. Claiming that an Atiku-Amaechi ticket would face significant hurdles, Wike alleged during a media chat that any partnership would be driven by financial considerations rather than strategic political gain.
