In expressing profound condolences to the people of Kaduna, the forum denounced the tragic incident that resulted in the loss of over 100 lives and numerous injuries. Acknowledging the gravity of the suffering, the NGF pledged immediate financial assistance and a long-term commitment to support the affected individuals.
Chairman and Governor of Gombe State, Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya, conveyed the forum’s collective resolution to provide N180,000,000.00 to aid the victims. Additionally, the forum outlined a comprehensive plan addressing crucial challenges in the North, encompassing peaceful coexistence, economic development, youth employment, drug abuse, and education revitalization. Their ambitious agenda aims to enhance the lives of millions of citizens.
Recognizing recent federal government efforts against insecurity, the forum pledged increased collaboration. They stressed the importance of strengthened cooperation with security agencies, the reinforcement of local law enforcement, community engagement, and the adoption of modern technology to address the complex issue of regional insecurity.
The forum underscored the need to tackle the root causes of insecurity, including poverty, unemployment, and deepening social inequality. They acknowledged the environmental challenges in Northern Nigeria, particularly the farmer-herder conflict.
